How we understand Jesus says a lot about how we view God and God’s unfolding purposes in us and in the world. This course will look at a variety of perspectives about who Jesus was (the
Messiah, a Teacher/Rabbi, a Revolutionary, and a Mystic) and how understanding Jesus in scripture and his context inform our understanding of discipleship and mission today.

Just as the Bible has had a role in the development, faith, beliefs, and mission of the early church, the Restoration scriptures have had a similar role in the Community of Christ. This course
will look at these additional witnesses of God’s encounter with God’s people and work to form a constructive approach to use of these texts in the life and mission of the church today.

explore how that community evolved into “the church” as we know it today...influenced as it is by an individualistic approach to life in general and life with God in particular.

For too long, evangelism has been seen as a free-standing event in which persons focus on individual’s life and personal salvation.. This course will explore a more holistic approach which
views evangelism as a way of life intended to address not only the needs of the whole person but also the whole of creation.
